What are the test levels?” tab_id=”1758500862584-f6efbef5-1cbc”][vc_column_text css=””]There are six test levels: Grades 1\u20132, 3\u20134, 5\u20136, 7\u20138, 9\u201310, and 11\u201312. The test paper is mixed among those grade levels, but each grade has its own scoring bracket.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”3. What is the format of the competition?” tab_id=”1758501280520-0a6723e5-879c”][vc_column_text css=””]Teams compete together as a group. The test lasts 60 minutes and includes 24 or 30 mixed-grade questions, including both multiple-choice and short-answer formats. Teams are ranked based on the grade of the oldest student in the group.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”4. How do we form teams?” tab_id=”1758501333564-f5d3b624-ace5″][vc_column_text css=””]Teams must have 2 to 4 members. Students may form teams regardless of grade or school. The competition level (grade) used is that of the oldest student in the team.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”5. Is there a limit on how many teams a center can host, or can multiple sessions be held?” tab_id=”1758501383116-212cfdbe-7279″][vc_column_text css=””]There is no limit on the number of teams for this year\u2019s pilot. You may host multiple sessions on the same day or across different days. Each session must be registered separately.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”6. You may adjust session times or locations within that window\u2014but all registered teams must be informed of any changes and must agree to them.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”7. How is registration handled? Is hosting the competition at a home address allowed?” tab_id=”1758501779565-61774ea2-a7dc”][vc_column_text css=””]No. The competition should be hosted at a recognized center or public venue. Home addresses are not permitted as official test sites.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”10. Can coaches or parents volunteer to proctor sessions? If yes, are there restrictions?” tab_id=”1758501828845-4636b694-278d”][vc_column_text css=””]Yes. Coaches and parents are welcome to volunteer as proctors, but they must follow all official rules. Coaches receive confirmation emails for each team registration, and center managers are copied. After this date, late registration begins, and no further changes will be accepted. This ensures smooth preparation and avoids additional stress and confusion.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”13. Can a student compete multiple times on different teams?” tab_id=”1759761644012-c6302d47-8479″][vc_column_text css=””]No. Each student may participate on only one team in the Math Kangaroo Team Competition, even if teams are at different levels. Yes. If your center registers 10 or more students for the Team Competition, the center manager\u2019s child may participate free of charge, following the same policy as the Individual Competition. This benefit applies only to the manager\u2019s own child, not to the entire team. The registration fee should be paid initially, and the refund will be processed once the 10-student threshold is confirmed. For reimbursement, please contact us at iz*****<\/span>@**********<\/span>oo.org<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/div>\n

What if one or more team members are absent on test day?” tab_id=”1759895526750-817ba8fe-18fd”][vc_column_text css=””]The test will proceed with the team members who are present. There are no make-up opportunities for any reason.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”16. Will each student receive their own test booklet, or will the team share one copy?” tab_id=”1761276429199-023c0f83-8a1f”][vc_column_text css=””]The question download link will be shared with center managers a few days before the competition so they can print the materials. We recommend that each participant has their own copy of the test paper, while only one answer sheet is provided per team.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”17. The questions will be the same types as in the individual competitions \u2014 logical reasoning, algebraic thinking, number theory, and geometry. However, the test will include a mix of multiple-choice and short-answer questions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

All questions are at the difficulty level of 4- or 5-point questions from the individual competition, designed for each test level as individual competition (Grades 1\u20132, 3\u20134, up to 11\u201312). Here are the curricula for all levels:<\/div>\n

Once the 60-minute test time has passed, the proctor must collect all paper answer sheets, test questions, and drafts from the team. Teams must wait until a proctor is available to supervise their online submission.<\/div>\n

The team can still compete with the remaining members, and the absence does not affect scoring. If the manager or coach wants the absent student removed from the roster, they must request it by providing the center name and ID, the team name and ID, and the student\u2019s full name. If no request is made, the student will remain listed and will receive a Certificate of Participation.<\/div>\n
