We believe that exceptional mathematical talent deserves to be nurtured and celebrated. The Math Kangaroo Junior Scholarship recognizes students in Grade 11<\/strong> who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and a deep commitment to our Math Kangaroo\u00a0community<\/strong>. This merit-based award\u00a0acknowledges students’ hard work and\u00a0provides support for their further STEM education.<\/p>\n

Math Kangaroo Junior Scholarship Criteria<\/strong><\/h2>\n

To be eligible for the Math Kangaroo Junior Scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

  1. Grade Level:<\/strong><\/span> Open to high school juniors enrolled<\/strong> in the Math Kangaroo competition during the award-giving year.<\/li>\n
  2. Performance:<\/strong> <\/span>Demonstrated exceptional aptitude and achievement in mathematics, as evidenced by outstanding performance in the Math Kangaroo competition for at least three years between grades 8-11<\/strong>, including a minimum of two years in high school, with a national ranking within the top 20 in most years of participation.<\/li>\n
  3. Leadership and Engagement:<\/strong><\/span> Demonstrated active involvement by volunteering as a TA in Math Kangaroo classes and webinars, and by supporting Math Kangaroo competitions or other MK-related events for a minimum of 25 hours<\/strong>. Volunteer hours must be verified by supervisors<\/strong>, with signed volunteer hour logs submitted<\/strong>. Multiple verifiers are acceptable if hours are completed across different activities.<\/li>\n
  4. Recommendations:<\/strong><\/span> Submit two letters of recommendation. One of the two should be from the Math Kangaroo faculty, state director, or center manager<\/strong>, highlighting the candidate’s passion, dedication, commitment, and excellence.<\/li>\n
  5. Essay Submission:<\/strong><\/span> A written essay with 500 words max. demonstrating Math Kangaroo’s impact on the candidate\u2019s educational journey and future aspirations.<\/li>\n
  6. Application Materials:<\/strong><\/span> Submission of a complete application, including the application form, two letters of recommendation, signed volunteer hour logs, and the required essay.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. Deadline Adherence:<\/strong><\/span> Timely submission of all required application materials within the specified deadline.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
